How long does a bathroom renovation take in Jacksonville?
A hall or guest bathroom with a tub-shower usually runs two to three weeks of on-site work. Tile curing, waterproofing inspections, glass templating, and permit inspections all add fixed days that cannot be compressed, so a realistic schedule is built around them rather than around wishful thinking.
What does a bathroom remodel cost here?

Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
Cosmetic swaps generally do not, but work that alters plumbing, drain lines, or electrical circuits often does. Depending on the project scope and the authority with jurisdiction — Duval County or St. Johns County, for example — permits or inspections may be required. Applicable requirements can be reviewed as part of project planning so nothing is closed up behind a wall that a future buyer's inspector would flag.
Can I use my bathroom during the renovation?
Not the one being remodeled. We ask that you plan on another bathroom in the house for the duration. If the bathroom being renovated is the only one, we talk through the sequence in advance so the down time is as short as possible and you know exactly which days matter.
Materials, waterproofing, and building details
How do you waterproof a tiled shower?
We build to a bonded waterproofing standard rather than relying on the tile and grout to keep water out. That means a sloped, properly prepared substrate, a continuous waterproofing membrane at the pan and walls, correctly treated corners and penetrations, and a drain assembly that ties into that membrane. Tile is a wear surface, not a water barrier — a shower that leaks almost always leaks because that distinction was ignored.
Why does Jacksonville humidity matter so much in a bathroom?
Sustained high humidity slows drying and keeps organic material damp long enough for mold to establish. That is why exhaust ventilation sized for the room and ducted fully to the exterior matters here more than in a dry climate, and why we favor materials in wet zones that do not feed mold when they get damp.
Should I choose a curbless shower?
A curbless entry is excellent for accessibility and looks clean, but it requires the floor structure to accommodate the recess and it demands a very disciplined slope and drain plan. On a slab home it is often straightforward. On a raised wood floor it can mean structural modification. We tell you which situation you are in before you commit to the look.
What tile holds up best in a Jacksonville bathroom?
Porcelain, for nearly every application. It is dense, low absorption, and forgiving. Natural stone can be beautiful but wants sealing and gentler cleaning, which matters on a shower floor that gets daily use. On floors, we also look at slip resistance rather than just appearance — a gorgeous polished tile that turns slick when wet is the wrong choice for a wet room.

We stop, show you what we found, explain the options, and price the repair before proceeding. Hidden damage is common in older Jacksonville homes with long-leaking shower pans. It is not treated as a surprise upcharge — it is treated as a documented change with your sign-off.
Who is in my house during the project?

Do you offer a warranty?
Any workmanship warranty or service commitment for your project is set out in your written agreement. Manufacturer warranties on fixtures and materials are passed through to you with the documentation.
